Comparison of Github and Gitlab.

By | January 2, 2017

Source code management is very important when developers are developing.

For example, after implementing basic functions and copying one backup, implementing additional functions, copying one backup, doing code management like this, I do not remember what purpose I copied, I am also trying to compare the current code with the current one.

Therefore, in order to improve the situation, a development management tool is often used.

Some older tools, such as cvs and svn, are also used as tools for configuration management, such as the perforce commercial tool, and git, which is now common.

In this article, I want to find out the services that run the git repository with git among these configuration management tools.

Github and Gitlab

Typically, there are github and gitlab that serve git repositories.

In some cases, you can use the github repository, and in some cases, use gitlab.

Github (
-. Usually the OpenSource Project is in progress.
-. If you use it as a private repository, you will have to pay a fee, which is not suitable as a private project repository.

Gitlab (
-. No cost for private project
-. Additional technical support is also available.

If you are working on an open source project, you can use Github, which is a commonly used one.
On the other hand, if you are working on a closed project for personal use, you will have to pay for it. Also, since gitlab can be installed on a private server, developers who want to store code on their own server should consider the installed version of gitlab.
